Assistant Engineer

After a brief service in the above private firm, joined in public sector, that is the then APSEB (Andhra Pradesh State Electricity Board) on 4th August, 1986 as Trainee Assistant Engineer at Kothagudem Thermal Power Station (KTPS), Paloncha, Khammam district. After completion of one year  joined and worked in the same place of posting (C-Station) as Assistant Engineer till 1993. During this period, gained thorough knowledge in operating Furnace Safeguard Supervisory System (FSSS), Boiler Auxiliaries, Turbine Auxiliaries, Ash Handling System etc. .

In October, 1993 continued the career in the rank of Assistant Engineer (AE) at Vidyut Soudha, Hyderabad, the head quarters of the then APSEB in various wings viz. Thermal Projects Construction wing of KTPS-V & VTPS-II Stages (on Ash Handling System); Detection of Pilferage of Energy (DPE) wing.

In the month of December 1996 (vide B.P. dtd 20-12-1996) promoted to the next level (from A.E). i.e. Assistant Divisional Engineer (ADE) for succesful completion of service as Assistant Engineer (for about 10 years).

Completion of MTECH-PTPG

Asst.Divisional Engineer

Consequent to the promotion, joined as ADE in the DPE wing of North circle on 1st January, 1997 and worked for about 4 years with the same designation. During this tenure, many malpractice /pilferage cases were booked for an assessed value of about one Crore and added considerable revenue to the department.

In December 2000, joined SE/400KV wing (at VS) as ADE/Technical to work only for a brief period of about 15 months & later was recommended by the Management to the post in Energy Billing Centre(EBC) after duly considering the special IT skills. From  April 2002 to July 2005, worked as ADE/EBC in the role of Systems Administrator in a totally computerzied bulk Energy Billing System environment. With this convenience, improved software skills on Java platform apart from Windows Server Adminitration.

During the period from 1999 to 2005, there were changes affected under new Electricity Act 2003 resulting in unbundling of APSEB into six power entities viz. AP Power Generation Corporation Limited (APGENCO), Transmission Corporation of Andhra Pradesh Limted (APTRANSCO) and four Distribution Companies (DISCOMs). Options were exercised to enable employee to opt for any of the six entities (in preferential order).

Opted for APTRANSCO in the 1st preference and was selected and allotted to the same entity (APTRANSCO) based on a prescribed criteria. The same post was held (as ADE/EBC) but under the different head i.e. APTRANSCO (instead of APSEB).

In the month of July 2005, promotion orders (vide TOO dtd 29-7-2005) were issued after a succesfull completion of about 10 years of service in the cadre of ADE, to join the next cadre i.e. Divisional Engineer (DE).

Divisional Engineer

On promotion, posting was given in Commercial wing (at VS) as DE/Bulk Loads. The opportunity to serve in the commercial wing lasted for just about 3 months. In October, 2005 (vide Memo dtd 25-10-2005) given posting in IT wing considering the IT background. Assumed charge as DE/Energy Audit & IT on 27-10-2005.

By the time, was recognized by the department as author /publisher of JAVA book. At the time of joining in IT wing, the ERP implementation in APTransco was proposed and subsequently was decided by the Management to implement ERP in TSTransco after conducting a standard selection procedure for implementation of ERP. 

The implementation of ERP which went for about two years had been a good experience to make finally a successful implementation in APTRANSCO due to which all the business transactions started running through ERP system. The modules that were implemented were Project Management, Material Management, Plant Management, HR, FICO.

Received the Best IT Team leader award for the year 2006-07 for sincere efforts with discipline, determination and dedication in implementing ERP in APTransco.

In the month of June 2011, transfer orders were issued based on the internal Transfer policy (within department) from IT wing to Commercial wing again (at VS).

Joined in commercial wing as DE/Commerical to work under the control of Chief Engineer/Commercial/APPCC on 2nd July 2011. APPCC was the AP Power Purchase Co-ordination Committee which shall direct APTRANSCO and distribution licensees (APDISCOMs) to provide necessary information, requisite support and depute its staff for efficient discharge of its functions to allow smooth transition process as directed in Third Transfer Scheme in compliance with Electricity Act 2003. APTRANSCO and distribution licensees shall extend all co-operations to APPCC in the matter. 

In the month of November 2011, promotion orders (vide TOO dtd 2-11-2011) were given from the cadre DE/Elec to next higher cadre i.e. Superintending Engineer/Ele for successfull completion of over 6 years tenure as Divisional Engineer/Ele. 

Superintending Engineer

Assumed charge as Superintending Engineer /TL&SS/Mahabubnagar on 2nd January, 2012 after availing E.L. from 8-10-2011 to 31-12-2011 (1-1-2012 was public holiday). There were 3 divisions viz. DE/TL&SS/Mahabubnagar, DE/400KV/O&M/Veltoor & DE/MRT/Mahabubnagar & the corresponding staff working under the control of SE/TL&SS/Mahabubnagar. Operation & Maintenance of all the 132 KV & above voltage level(i.e. 220 KV, 400 KV) were under the control of SE.

In the process of  re-organization of the structure of Field operations, SE/TL&SS/Mahabubnagar was re-designated as SE/OMC/Mahabubnagar taking the responsibility of Construction of Lines & Substations (TLC works) apart from Operation & Maintenance in the year.......This has resulted in inclusion of EE/TLC/Construction division (which existed under the control of SE/TLC/Rural) and re-designation of existing three divisions. Besides this, a new division viz. DE/Transmission was also added under the control of SE/OMC/Mahabubnagar.

On 2-6-2014, the TSTransco was formed with the formation of Telangana state and SE/OMC/Mahabubnagar continued to exist under theTSTransco with all the responsibilites remaining unaltered.

In the month of August 2015, while the transfer orders on hand to the post of SE/OMC/Adilabad (vide Memo dtd 21-08-2015), proceeded on Half-Pay Leave (HPL) on medical grounds from 22nd August, 2015 to 31-10-2015.

On 2-11-2015 (1-11-2015 being a public holiday), assumed charge as SE/OMC/Adilabad. Surprisingly, within few hours of assumption of charge as SE/OMC/Adilabad received the information from Director/HRD about the issued transfer order (vide Memo dtd 31-10-2015) to the post of General Manager -IT/Vidyut Soudha. 

Chief Engineer

Assumed charge as Chief Engineer/Transmission on 8-5-2017 where-in Monitor all the Construction and O&M works pertaining to 132 /220 KV Lines and Substations of TSTRANSCO's Transmission Network including setting up of Solar Power Units apart from O&M works of 400 KV Network. Looked after works duly co-ordinating between the zonal units and the top management with respect to O&M and Construction works.

In the month of June 2017, consequent to creation of new post i.e. CE/IT & QC (along with many other posts within TSTransco), Transfer Orders were issued from the post of CE/Transmission to the post of CE/IT&QC. 

Assumed charge as Chief Engineer/IT & Quality Control on 12-6-2017 to look after all the IT related activities (including SAP ERP) apart from the Quality Control wing.

On 31-10-2018 retired from the services of TSTRANSCO on attaining the age of Superannuation.
