My Favorite Actress(es) are THREE out of so many beautiful talented actress(es) in the history of Indian Cinema. When it comes to multi-lingual cinemas i.e. Telugu and Hindi both it's Sridevi a real talented actress started her career from 4 years of age. Coming to second most favorite Actress, it was the beautiful talented heroine, in 1960s, Sadhana. Some of her movies are ever green and the songs viz. Naina barse rimjim rimjim, Tu jaha jaha chalegaa, ye phoolon ki rani etc pictured on her are still enchating even after 5 decades. Next it has been Hema Malini, dream girl of Indian Cinema now promoted to dream woman. From her old movie Jugnu to her recent movie Baghban she remains talented actress.

Sridevi (Telugu & Hindi)

Though Sridevi had worked since her childhood in many Telugu & other regional language movies, she had become popular with her first movie as heroine in Padaharella Vayasu. She attracted Telugu audience with her elegant performance in that movie in 1978. She acted in many films with Kamal Hasan as co-starrer. Those days it was Akali Rajyam with co-star Kamal Hasan which had received tremondous response from Telugu audience. She established as one of the leading actresses in Tamil & Kannada including Telugu with her notable Telugu movies viz. Premabhisekham, Aakari Poratam, Jagadeka Veerudu Atiloka Sundari, Kondaveeti Simham, Sardar Paparayudu, Vetagadu, Sriranga Neetulu, Muddula Koduku, Bangaru Kanuka, Karthika Deepam, Kshanam Kshanam, Govinda Govinda and many more acting with the then great Telugu Super Stars NTR, ANR, Sobhanbabu, Krishna, Nagarjuna, Venkatesh.

Her performance in the 1992 Ram Gopal Varma directed Kshana Kshanam won her the Filmfare Award for Best Actress in Telugu and Andhra's Nandi Award for Best Actress.

She made her debut in Hindi in 1979 with Solva Sawan. Later after 4 years she acted with Jeetendra in Himmatwala ( a remake of Telugu film) which was one of the biggest block busters in 1983. The following year another Hindi movie Tohfa was released and turned out to be the biggest hit of 1984. These hit films established Sridevi as one of the leading actress of Bollywood no. 1 heroine. Sridevi went on to star in several films like Mawaali, Maqsad and Justice Chaudhry forming a popular onscreen pair with Jeetendra. In 1986, came Nagina which saw Sridevi play an 'ichhadhaari naagin' and which turned out to be the second biggest blockbuster of the year. Other super hits in the same year were Karma & Jaanbaaz. Sridevi followed the success of Nagina, Karma, Jaanbaaz by playing a goofy crime journalist in the 1987 film Mr. India which became one of the highest grossing hits of the year. In 1989 Sridevi acted in dual role in Chaalbaaz which had Sridevi playing twin sisters separated at birth. This reminded the great performace of similar flick played by Hema Malini in Seeta Aur Geeta. This twin-sister's act won Sridevi her first Filmfare Award for Best Actress in Hindi films. The same year also saw the release of the another block buster movie "Chandni" with Sridevi playing the title role. This movie emerged as one of biggest block busters in 1989. It established Sridevi as nation's sweet heart. This film also reaffirmed Sridevi’s position as the top female star of the 1980s. After that Sridevi acted in many movies like Lamhe (1991), Khuda Gawah (1992), Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja (1993), Gumrah etc.

She had comeback in early 2011 with her film English Vinglish for which her performance was praised by many magazines viz. Time of India, America's Entertainment weekly, CNN-BNN, The Cinema Journal etc. With the worldwide triumph of English Vinglish, Sridevi, most probably, became the only actress in Bollywood to make a successful comeback as a leading lady after marriage.

Hema Malini (Hindi)

When the word Dream Girl heard from any discussions, one could be easily understood that the discussion must be about none other than Hindi Heroine Hema Malini. She made this

impact with her fabulous performance in the title role of Dream Girl opposite to Dharmendra in the year 1977. Her first movie was Sapno ka saudhagar released in the year 1968. She acted in many super hit films as comic, dramatic roles and also as dance performer. Some of her super hit movies were Johny Mera Naam (1970) opposite Devanand, Dual role in Seeta aur Geeta opposite Dharmendra & Sanjeev Kumar, Sanyasi, Dharmatma, Pratigya, Sholay, Trishul, Joshilay, Kushboo, Kinara & Meera. She acted in 28 films alone opposite to Dhramedra including Sharafat, Naya Zamana, Raja Jani, Seeta Aur Geeta, Pattar Aur Payal, Charas, Jugnu, Dost, Azad, Dillagi etc.

After her marriage, Hema Malini made films including Kranti, Naseeb (1981), Satte Pe Satta , Rajput, and Ek Nai Paheli (1984). She portrayed the role of a classical singer in the film opposite Rajesh Khanna. Her works also included Aandhi Toofan, Durgaa (1985), Ramkali (1985), Sitapur Ki Geeta (1987), Ek Chadar Maili Si (1986), Rihaee and Jamai Raja (1990). During this period, Hema Malini performed with Dharmendra in Alibaba Aur 40 Chor, Baghavat, Samraat , Razia Sultan, Andha Kanoon (1983), Baghavat, and Raaj Tilak (1984). She directed the film Dil Aashna Hai with Divya Bharti and Shahrukh Khan in the leading roles. Following this, Hema Malini focused on dancing and television work.

In 1965, Hema Malini acted in telugu movie Pandava Vanavaasam as dancer. She also performed dance on super hit Telugu song "Joharu Sikhipincha mouli" in the movie Shri Krishna Vijayam. Must watch dance performance in the following video:

In 2000, Hema Malini had won the Filmfare life time achievement Award and also the Padmashri award from the Government of India.

Sandhana (Hindi)

Sadhana's full name was Sadhana Shivdasani. I came to know this actress when I saw the movie Mera Saaya which was a box-office super hit movie in the year 1966. She acted as a

mysterious girl in that movie opposite to Sunil Dutt in dual role. After knowing another suspense thriller woh kaun thi? in which she acted as mysterious girl opposite Manoj Kumar, I had seen that movie and was very much impressed by the beauty with talent in acting. In both movies the songs were super hit. Because of these two movies she was familiar to be known by "Mysteirous Girl" afterwards. Later I came to know more about her movies one by one and I saw all the super hits in which she performed lead roles viz. Raj Kumar, Mere Mehboob, Inteqam, Hum Dono, Asli Naqli, Waqt, Arzoo. Hum Dono she played the love interest of Dev Anand. This black-and-white film was colourized and re-released in 2011. In 1963, Sadhana played her first role in a technicolour film Mere Mehboob directed by H.S.Rawail. The film was the "Blockbuster" of 1963 and ranked in the top 5 films of the 1960s. Sadhana got her second Filmfare nomination as Best Actress for the role of Meena in Yash Chopra's directorial saga WAQT (1965). She stood out in Bollywood’s first ever ensemble cast by bringing along the fashion of tight chudidar-kurtas. The film WAQT proved to be 1965’s "Blockbuster".

There are other few heroines who had ruled the silver screen with their acting talent & excellent performaces for many years in Telugu film Industry, I would like to name them; they are 'Mahanati' Savithri (మహానటి సావిత్రి), 'Kalaabhinetri' Vaanishri (కళాభినేత్రి వాణిశ్రీ), 'SahajanaTi' Jayasudha (సహజనటి జయసుధ), 'Andaalanati Jayaprada' (అందాలనటి జయప్రద) and also in Hindi Film Industry too and they are the 'Smiling Beauty' Moushmi Chatterjee (मौशमी चटर्जी), 'Evergreen Actress' Madhuri Dixit (माधुरी दीक्शित). Hats off to them.
