Books Writing

Up to 1999, I hadn't been serious in Software field except possessing of some programming skills in C & C++ by that time. I learnt some skills in VC++ in the year 1998 but the subject did not attract me much. In 2000, heard about Java and its fast growing popularity due to its object oriented & platform independency features. Several software aspirants were shifting to Java platform finding its prospective advantages in software industries.

Having considerable C/C++ programming skills I thought why I should not learn Java. I decided to join, in a nearby institute at Kukatpally, NetGSC which I found one of the best institutes at that time.The course went on for more than three months. It was very interesting for me to learn Java like writing code, testing the result/output on console. Along with Java, I also learnt more about HTML, CGI with C, CGI with PERL, Java Script, CORBA etc. Along with learning I used to prepare class notes clearly. By the time I completed learning, I had finished writing a five to six (long) class notebooks.

After reading few books on Java (especially the JAVA The Complete Reference written by Herbert Schildt) , I felt like obtained full command in Java. My class notes did help a lot in easily understanding the programming concepts.

I wrote Brainbench online tests in the month of September 2000 on HTML 4.0 and JAVA 2.0 and obtained certificates from Brainbench which was the World's largest provider of High quality, Structured, Skills Certification Exams on the Internet. Also I wrote JCP online test conducted by Sun Microsystems in the month of November 2000 and received Certification on Sun Certified Programmer for the Java 2.0 Platform.

The above skills-set has made me a Writer of the following book(s) on Java. Just Thrilling..!

Java 100 - A Guide For Interview

Oneday a thought came to my mind suddenly why not my skillset on Java and the class notes I prepared during my training be converted into a small book which would help a lot of Java aspirants. Immediately I started writing the book by best utilizing my skills in Page Maker. Initially I thought to go for printing of 4 to 5 books to distribute among few friends only. Later, after seeing the look and feel of the book (see down the image), decided to go in big number say 1000 (Becaouse Printer told it would cost almost same for 100 or 1000). The book was titled : JAVA100 A GUIDE FOR INTERVIEW. It consisted of 100 Questions and 100 Pages. The price also tagged with 100 Bucks.

Within a week days, all the books were ready in bundles but what to do I did not get anything to my mind as I am not a business man basically. Later in one month of time, I could be able to distribute just about 40 to 50 books here and there as complementary things. What to do with the rest (in big number)?! Would I get back my money at least which I invested on printing!!? These were the questions in my mind but I didn't bother much about money spent on it but worried how to free the space the books occupied in one of the rooms of the flat where I was staying.

For every start there's an end. The time had come for the books to move-out finally. M/s Gangaram publishers, Secunderabad were very imressed after seeing the book (they said they never had such book earlier as it's the first of its kind at that time) and they came forward to purchase all the books at one go. It was a great relief for me as the books finally put on wheels and my main aim was going to be fulfilled. With the release of books, not only I got relieved off certain burden but also I could be able to free some space in our flat too. I received very good response from all over and also a call from M/s Gangaram from Bangalore again (they shifted from Secunderabad to Bangalore by that time) saying that more books needed but with more number of Questions. I asked them for sometime to do the improvement. But due to busy with office works I could not concentrate on this assignment.

Java/J2EE Interview Questions

After 4 to 5 years passed, the spirit of writing book which I left in the middle earlier came to my mind again. I decided to improve the book at any cost. It took 3 months to finish writing book with added 100 questions to bring it into a final shape with title "JAVA/J2EE Interview Questions" a guide for Interview. The publishers were, this time, not M/s Gangaram as I could not connect to them. I kept trying for alternative & finally I could be able to establish connection with Delhi publishers, M/s Dreamtech Press. After done so much exercise in the process of repeated corrections & then modifications, suggested by them for about six months I could finally hand over the book to them for publication. The book was published all over India. It had been a great time for me when I received authors' copies and it was great feeling to be called author of a Java book. What would be more Special than this?!
